description | This event brings together fashion design, ATTRACT EU technologies in detection and imaging, and the Design the Future methodology toolbox created at IdeaSquare. This week, students developed incredible ideas for imagining a fashion future that prioritizes both style and sustainability. 🌈 Imagine wearing a garment that reflects your emotions! For this project, participants have created an outfit that communicates our inner feelings through its lights and motives. This could be self-expression in a whole new way, but also something that can be informative for yourself! 💧 Reflecting on water scarcity, they design an outfit that looks straight out of Dune, that collects water from the air and filters it, making every drop count. 🌬️ Designed to purify the air around you, a modular cape inspired by nature's genius could transform polluted air into a breath of fresh using UV light. This kind of fabric could even be used on bigger infrastructures. 🌡️ The ultimate sustainable garment would be one that adapts directly to the environment, changing shape as the temperature increases or decreases, with specific materials. It could be possible by using materials shape-memory without the need for any electronics, and by changing colour to modify the air flows inside. The applications of ATTRACT EU technologies can be surprising and could foster innovation in a large variety of fields. IED Barcelona |
