Searches for lepton flavor violation (LFV) have been performed at past and current experiments at particle colliders. In the recent past, hints of LFU violation by the LHCb experiment generated an intense theoretical activity. Specific signatures of new physics models that could generate LFU violation have been proposed. While some of these hints have been tracked to experimental causes, the interest in LFV is still strong. In this seminar, we report new results by the CMS collaboration, covering LFV searches and searches for heavy particles predicted in LFU violating scenarios, based on the full Run 2 luminosity, collected by the CMS experiment in the period 2016 to 2018.

Refreshments will be served at 10:30
