Neutral Pion Event-by-Event Fluctuations
The results of Monte Carlo simulations of neutral and charged pion fluctuations via ${{\nu }_{{{\text{dyn}}}}}$ observable in proton–proton (pp) collisions at $\sqrt s = 5.02$ TeV are presented. Sumario: | The results of Monte Carlo simulations of neutral and charged pion fluctuations via ${{\nu }_{{{\text{dyn}}}}}$ observable in proton–proton (pp) collisions at $\sqrt s = 5.02$ TeV are presented. The dependence of ${{\nu }_{{{\text{dyn}}}}}$ on the charged and neutral particle acceptance is explored. It is shown that the neutral pion fluctuations can be estimated using the photon-charged pion fluctuations after correcting for the contribution of partner decay photon from ${{\pi }^{{\text{0}}}} \to 2\gamma $ decay. The details of this correction are also provided. |
