description The LHCb experiment has developed a new welcome visitors centre at LHC Point 8, in Ferney-Voltaire (France), where the experiment is located. The exhibits on the surface include a miniature model of the underground cavern featuring the old DELPHI and LHCb detector. The main exhibition hall on the surface hosts pieces of the LHCb detector such as the vertex locator, parts of the calorimeters and muon systems, the upstream tracker, the ring-imaging Cherenkov detector and a scintillating fibre tracker. Underground one can discover the old DELPHI detector which used to be hosted at Point 8 in the LEP tunnel and see the LHCb experiment from a gallery. The new exhibition has indeed been open to the public since the beginning of the year, and was officially inaugurated on 3 March.
