description The tagging of heavy-flavour particles is a pivotal technique in high-energy physics experiments, essential for unraveling the mysteries of the subatomic world and enhancing our comprehension of the Standard Model of particle physics. Heavy-flavour particles, characterised by the presence of charm and beauty quarks, provide valuable insights into the strong force and the behaviour of fundamental particles. The aim of the project was to develop heavy-flavour jet tagging in ALICE. These heavy-flavour jets are crucial for studying the properties of heavy quarks and their interactions with the quark-gluon plasma produced in high-energy heavy-ion collisions. The project entailed developing a Monte Carlo matching criteria for detector and particle-level heavy-flavour jet tagging in the O2 framework. These developments are a good starting point for Run 3 analyses and ALICE 3 projections.
