description The Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM) subdetector system was installed in the first muon station of the endcap region within CMS prior to the start of Run 3 at the LHC. It has been recording proton-proton (pp) collision and cosmic ray muon data since July 2022. To show that the chambers have been operating in a stable configuration, a trend of the active VFAT3 chips on-board the GEM chambers recording data in a particular run was developed. The trend shows that since end of the 2022 pp data collection period and during the 2023 pp data collection through July the CMS GEM system has sustained an active VFAT3 count largely between 90\% and 95\%. The data is shown per run and averaged daily, weighted by run duration.
