Sumario: | This thesis presents a search for direct CP violation in the Cabibbo-suppressed decay $D^+\to K^-K^+\pi^+$, using data from $pp$ collisions collected during 2016-2018 at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.6 fb$^{-1}$. A novel binned model-independent technique is developed in this work to account for instrumental asymmetries observed with the control channel, $D_s^+\to K^-K^+\pi^+$. Furthermore, technical contributions made to the LHCb experiment during the Ph.D. studies, specifically in the preparation for the LHC Run 3, are described. |
