description Data scouting is a paradigm for data analysis at CMS based on trigger-level object reconstruction. The online objects reconstructed by the High-Level Trigger are then stored directly to disk to be used in physics analyses. This innovative trigger strategy allowed the development of new high rate dimuon trigger algorithms with lower transverse momentum thresholds at Level 1 Trigger, enabling the exploration of an otherwise inaccessible phase space at low dimuon mass all the way down to twice the muon mass. In this note, the rate of the dimuon triggers and the performance of the scouting muon objects between Run 2 and Run 3 are presented.
