description Silicon diode sensors will be used in the High-Granularity Calorimeter (HGCAL) of the upgraded CMS detector. Due to the harsh radiation environment in the HGCAL, however, the changes of the electrical properties of these diodes during irradiation and after annealing have to be studied precisely. To conduct these investigations in a reproducible environment, the objective of this project was to develop a highly automated testing setup for IV, CV and TCT measurements. Within the scope of a CERN summer student project the author of this report was able to improve the temperature control in the experiment by implementing a new PID algorithm and combining the control of the external chiller and the Peltier elements. Furthermore, he developed a software module that automatically performs IV and CV measurements and created a completely new GUI for temperature control, monitoring and measurement operation. In addition, he also installed a new switch box that automatically swaps measurement setups. Thanks to these developments, the setup is now ready to use and has already been tested successfully.
