Sumario:High-energy physics, along with other natural sciences, face the challenge of de- veloping scalable data analysis systems to meet the increasing demand of new and upgraded experiments, while adhering to the important research topics of result preservation and reproducibility. These systems must not only handle significant amounts of data but also be easy to maintain and deploy on different sites, be user- friendly for researchers, and save costs. This thesis seeks to address these challenges by designing a solution based on requirements elicited from domain experts. Six ex- pert interviews and their analysis provided a basis for the design of an architecture that could be implemented as a prototype and tested against real-world use cases. The outcome demonstrated that a data analysis system that meets the established re- quirements can be constructed. The prototype implementation of the architecture is limited in scope, and there are technical challenges that need to be addressed before a production-ready implementation of the proposed architecture can be achieved.
