Sparks! The Serendipity Forum at CERN, First edition: Future intelligence

Sparks! is a completely new kind of event, designed to become the flagship annual fixture for CERN's new education and outreach centre, Science Gateway, which will open in 2023. Building on the successful TEDxCERN format, Sparks! combines academic and public-facing elements, aiming to trigger original ideas, and share them both in academic circles, and with a broad public audience. Themes are chosen to be relevant to CERN's research programme, while touching many disciplines. The theme of the first, pilot, edition was future intelligence, as a small group of experts came together to discuss the sciences, ethics and policy of artificial intelligence (AI).
