Sumario:Micro-Pattern Gaseous Detectors (MPGDs) have been tested by means of beam irradiation and cosmic rays to study their performance and suitability as active layers of a hadronic calorimeter. The physics case is a muon collider detector, where the beam-induced background (BIB) is very high, and leads to the requirement for high granularity detectors. Tests under beam irradiation occurred at two test beam campaigns. The first campaign tested twelve MPGD detectors covering three possible technologies using an 150 GeV muon beam. The data analysis of this campaign is ongoing. The second campaign tested eight of the MPGDs in the form of a calorimeter cell prototype, with iron slabs as the absorbing layers. In between test beams, a cosmic ray study was conducted in the laboratory to estimate the telescope acceptance. A geometry simulation was developed for the cosmic study in order to estimate the required runtime.
