Sumario: | We have studied the potential for observation of a heavy Higgs (mH = 800 GeV) in the channel H ! WW ! `jj using a parametrized simulation of the CMS detector. We have investigated the use of kinematic selection cuts and forward jet tagging to select the signal and reject the backgrounds. We find that signal to background ratios greater than unity can be obtained, but only at the cost of very low signal efficiency (only a few events per 100 fb1 would survive). |
