description A good use of World Wide Web within a large organization requires a specific knowledge of how data can be collected and distributed over the network. Among the characteristics of large organizations is the wide range of possible information providers. Potentially any employee is a provider, and therefore, may like to run his own WWW server. We will study the different models of WWW servers, from a model where each provider runs his own server to a central server which offers services to the providers. Examples are mainly based on our experience in the very first organization to use the World Wide Web: CERN.
