Sumario:The Higgs system is the great unknown of the standard model. Sofar, the Higgs itself has not been seen, and experimentally, all we have is a questionable estimate of its mass. However, there is more to the Higgs system that the Higgs boson itself. It has a function within the standard model, and that is a point of view that will emphasize. In these lectures we will try to explore the Higgs system and what it means to the facts as observed so far. Symmetry properties, screening theorem, photon mass, parity violation, non-minimal Higgs systems are subjects that will be discussed in this context.
