Sumario: | This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply of portable 3-D measuring systems for checking the dimensions of the cold masses of the LHC superconducting dipole and quadrupole magnets. A call for tenders (IT-2680/LHC/LHC) was sent on 4 June 1999 to fifteen firms in six Member States, one firm in Japan and two firms in the USA. By the closing date, CERN had received four tenders. The Finance Committee is invited to approve the negotiation of a contract with the firm LEICA GEOSYSTEMS (CH) for the supply of five portable 3-D measuring systems for the LHC superconducting dipole and quadrupole magnets, for a total amount of 859 500 Swiss francs, not subject to revision, with an option for the supply of up to five additional 3-D measuring systems, for a total amount up to 859 500 Swiss francs, subject to revision for contractual deliveries after 31 December 2002, bringing the overall total amount to a maximum of 1 719 000 Swiss francs, subject to revision after 31 December 2002 for the option. LEICA GEOSYSTEMS (CH) has declared that the equipment covered by this adjudication proposal is of the following origin: CH-100%. |
