Sumario:This document concerns the award of two contracts for the transport of magnets from Russia to CERN by road and rail, respectively. A call for tenders (IT-2735/SPL/LHC) was sent on 3 June 1999 to 34 firms in eleven Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received 17 tenders. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of contracts for a total amount not exceeding 1 300 000 Swiss francs, subject to revision after 31 December 2000, with: - FRANZ WELZ (AT) for the supply of road transport services; - SEA-LAND SERVICE (NL) for the supply of rail transport services. The firms have indicated the following distribution by country of the work covered by this adjudication proposal: FRANZ WELZ: RU-50% and AT-50%; SEA-LAND INTERNATIONAL: NL-40%, RU-30% and CH-30%.
