Sumario:This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply of 166 000, 3.6 m-long copper wedges of four different profiles, i.e. 41 500 of each profile, for the LHC superconducting dipole magnets. Following a market survey carried out among 37 firms in fourteen Member States, a call for tenders (IT-2614/LHC/LHC) was sent on 4 June 1999 to eight firms in six Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received six tenders. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with the firm OUTOKUMPU (FI) for the supply of 166 000, 3.6 m-long copper wedges of four different profiles, i.e. 41 500 of each profile, for the LHC superconducting dipole magnets for a total amount of 2 178 554 Swiss francs, subject to revision for contractual deliveries after 31 December 2001, with an option for the supply of up to 20 000 additional 3.6 m-long copper wedges of four different profiles, i.e 5000 of each profile, for a total amount up to 254 920 Swiss francs, subject to revision for contractual deliveries after 31 December 2001, bringing the overall total amount to a maximum of 2 433 474 Swiss francs, subject to revision for contractual deliveries after 31 December 2001. OUTOKUMPU (FI) has declared that the equipment covered by this adjudication proposal is of the following origin: FI-100%.
