Proposal for the award of a contract for the process control upgrade of the cooling installations for the SPS accelerator

This document concerns the award of a contract for the process control upgrade of the cooling installations for the SPS accelerator. Following a market survey carried out among 67 firms in eleven Member States, a call for tenders (IT-2664/ST/SPS) was sent on 6 October 1999 to eleven firms and five consortia in ten Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received six tenders from two firms and four consortia. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with the consortium LINTRONICS (NL) ? GTIE (FR), the lowest bidder, for the process control upgrade of the cooling installations for the SPS accelerator, for an amount of 1 313 072 Swiss francs, not subject to revision. The consortium has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: NL-30%; FR-43%; DE-27%.
