Proposal for the award of a contract for the supply of eight copper radiofrequency cavities for the LHC

This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply of eight copper radiofrequency cavities for the LHC, operating at 200 MHz. Following a market survey carried out among 36 firms in thirteen Member States, a call for tenders (IT-2744/SL/LHC) was sent on 10 March 2000 to seven firms in four Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received three tenders. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with the firm ZANON (IT), the lowest bidder, for the supply of eight copper radio-frequency cavities for the LHC for a total amount of 1 495 330 Swiss francs, not subject to revision. The firm ZANON (IT) has declared the following origin of the equipment covered by this adjudication proposal: IT-86% and DE-14%.
