Proposal for the award of a blanket order contract for the supply of microprocessor-based protection and control gear for the CERN HV distribution network

This document concerns the award of a blanket order contract for the supply of microprocessor-based protection and control gear for the CERN high-voltage (HV) distribution network. Following a market survey carried out among 72 firms in seventeen Member States, a call for tenders (IT-2713/ST) was sent on 3 December 1999 to eight firms in six Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received six tenders from six firms. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC (BE), the lowest bidder, for the supply of microprocessor-based protection and control gear for the CERN HV distribution network, for an amount of 3 200 000 Swiss francs. SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: BE-57%; FR-43%.
