Proposal for the award of a contract for the supply and installation of a static VAr compensator

This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply and installation of a Static VAr Compensator (SVC). Following a market survey carried out among 27 firms in ten Member States, a call for tenders (IT-2738/ST) was sent on 15 February 2000 to three firms in three Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received tenders from the three firms. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract for the supply and installation of a Static VAr Compensator with ABB POWER SYSTEMS (SE), the lowest bidder, for an amount of 5 444 300 Swiss francs, not subject to revision. ABB POWER SYSTEMS has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: SE-49%, GB-20%, AT-25% and DE-6%.
