Proposal for the award of a contract for the replacement of air handling units for the SPS accelerator

This document concerns the award of a contract for the replacement of air-handling units for the SPS accelerator. Following a market survey carried out among 60 firms in eleven Member States, a call for tenders (IT-2743/ST) was sent on 17 January 2000 to six firms, five consortia consisting of two firms each and two consortia consisting of three firms each in nine Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received seven tenders from three firms, three consortia consisting of two firms each and one consortium consisting of three firms in six Member States. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract for the replacement of air-handling units with the consortium HEINRICH NICKEL (DE), GTIE (FR) and METAREG (FR), the lowest bidder, for an estimated amount of 930 000 euros (1 487 639 Swiss francs), not subject to revision. The consortium has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: DE-67.7%, FR-16.8%, CH-6%, IT-8% and UK-1.5%.
