Sumario:This document concerns the award of a contract for the civil-engineering work for the CNGS (CERN Neutrinos to Gran Sasso Facility) project. Following a market survey carried out among 121 firms in 16 Member States, a call for tenders (IT-2639/ST) was sent on 17 January 2000 to four firms, six consortia each consisting of two firms and four consortia each consisting of three firms, in seven Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received seven tenders from one firm, two consortia consisting of two firms and four consortia consisting of three firms, in six Member States. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract for the civil-engineering work for the CNGS project with the consortium SOTRABAS (FR) - SPIE BATIGNOLLES (FR) - CONDOTTE D'ACQUA (IT), the lowest bidder, for an estimated amount of 26 000 000 Swiss francs, with an additional sum of 2 600 000 Swiss francs to cover unforeseen supplementary work, bringing the total to an amount not exceeding 28 600 000 Swiss francs, not subject to revision until 31 December 2001. The consortium indicated the following distribution by country of the work covered by this adjudication proposal: FR-49% and IT-51%.
