Proposal for the award of a contract for the civil engineering consultancy services for the CNGS project

This document concerns the award of a contract for the civil-engineering consultancy services for the CNGS (CERN Neutrinos to Gran Sasso Facility) project. Following a market survey carried out among 135 firms in nineteen Member States, a call for tenders (IT-2813/ST) was sent on 21 March 2000 to three firms, 10 consortia consisting of two firms and three consortia consisting of three firms in eleven Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received 13 tenders. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract for the civil-engineering consultancy services for the CNGS project with the consortium GIBB (UK) and GIBB HELLAS (GR), the lowest bidder, for an estimated amount of 2 100 000 Swiss francs, with an additional sum of 200 000 Swiss francs to cover unforeseen supplementary work, bringing the total to an amount not exceeding 2 300 000 Swiss francs, not subject to revision until 31 December 2001. The consortium indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: UK-59% and GR-41%.
