Sumario:This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply of the hardware and its associated software for the Industrial Process Control Systems to be used in the control and supervision of the cryogenic equipment and experimental magnets installed in the LHC accelerator complex. Following a market survey carried out among 109 firms in sixteen Member States, a call for tenders (IT-2628/LHC/LHC) was sent on 3 December 1999 to 14 firms and two consortia in nine Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received seven tenders. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with the consortium GTD (ES) ? CEGELEC (FR) ? ALSTOM S&S (BE), the lowest bidder, for a total amount not exceeding 5 434 768 euros (8 728 238 Swiss francs), subject to revision after 31 December 2001, with an option for additional equipment and services for an amount not exceeding 666 167 euros (1 069 864 Swiss francs), subject to revision after 31 December 2001, bringing the total amount to a maximum of 6 100 935 euros (9 798 102 Swiss francs), subject to revision after 31 December 2001. The above amounts in Swiss francs have been calculated using the rate of exchange indicated in the tender. The consortium has declared the following distribution by country of the contract value for the equipment and software covered by this adjudication proposal: ES-51%, FR-24.5% and BE-24.5%.
