Sumario:This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply of 24 MCBX superconducting single-aperture dipole corrector magnets for the LHC. Following a market survey (MS-2594/LHC/LHC) carried out among 39 firms in thirteen Member States, two firms in Japan and one firm in the USA, a call for tenders (IT-2843/LHC/LHC) was sent on 25 May 2000 to 10 firms in seven Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received three tenders. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with the firm SIGMAPHI (FR), the lowest bidder, for the supply of 24 MCBX superconducting single-aperture corrector magnets for the LHC for a total amount of 5 831 677 French francs (1 379 952 Swiss francs), subject to revision for contractual deliveries after 31 December 2002, with an option for the supply of up to 10 additional MCBX superconducting single-aperture corrector magnets, for a total amount of 2 193 007 French francs (518 932 Swiss francs), subject to revision for contractual deliveries after 31 December 2002, bringing the total amount to a maximum of 8 024 685 French francs (1 898 884 Swiss francs), subject to revision for contractual deliveries after 31 December 2002. The above amounts in Swiss francs have been calculated using the rate of exchange stipulated in the tender. The firm SIGMAPHI (FR) has declared the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: FR-90.5%, BE-7.1%, FI-2.4%.
