Sumario: | This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply of 78 MCBC, 40 MCBY and 16 MCBR superconducting dipole corrector magnets for the LHC. Following a market survey (MS-2594/LHC/LHC) carried out among 39 firms in thirteen Member States, two firms in Japan and one firm in the USA, a call for tenders (IT-2789/LHC/LHC) was sent on 17 May 2000 to 10 firms in seven Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received four tenders. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with the firm TESLA ENGINEERING (UK), the lowest bidder, for the supply of 78 MCBC, 40 MCBY and 16 MCBR superconducting dipole corrector magnets for the LHC for a total amount of 5 081 987 Swiss francs, subject to revision for contractual deliveries after 31 December 2002, with an option for the supply of up to 52 additional MCBC, 16 additional MCBY and 16 additional MCBR superconducting dipole corrector magnets, for a total amount of 2 746 536 Swiss francs, subject to revision for contractual deliveries after 31 December 2002, bringing the total amount to a maximum of 7 828 523 Swiss francs, subject to revision for contractual deliveries after 31 December 2002. The firm TESLA ENGINEERING (UK) has declared the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: UK-74.1%, DE-16.6%, PL-9.3%. |
