Sumario:This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply of 256 tonnes of hollow copper sections for the high-current superconducting busbars of the LHC. A call for tenders (IT-2882/LHC/LHC) was sent on 2 June 2000 to 25 firms in ten Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received one tender. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with the firm OUTOKUMPU (FI), the only bidder, for the supply of 256 tonnes of hollow copper sections for the high-current superconducting busbars of the LHC for a total amount of 3 245 202 Swiss francs, subject to revision for contractual deliveries after 31 December 2001, with an option for the additional supply of up to 38.4 tonnes of hollow copper sections for a total amount of 486 780 Swiss francs, subject to revision for contractual deliveries after 31 December 2001, bringing the total amount to a maximum of 3 731 982 Swiss francs, subject to revision for contractual deliveries after 31 December 2001. The firm OUTOKUMPU (FI) has declared the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: FI-95%, other countries-5%.
