Sumario: | This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply of a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for the control of the four LHC experiments. Following a market survey carried out among 63 firms in thirteen Member States and one firm in Israel, a call for tenders (IT-2814/IT) was sent on 29 May 2000 to two firms and two consortia, each consisting of two firms, in four Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received four tenders from three firms and one consortium in three Member States. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with ETM (AT), the lowest bidder complying with the specification, for the supply of a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for the control of the four LHC experiments, including consultancy services and training, for a total amount of 407 500 euros (634 000 Swiss francs), not subject to revision, and 10 years? maintenance for a total amount of 308 500 euros (480 000 Swiss francs), subject to annual revision, with options for additional development and run-time licenses and specific development and maintenance for additional projects, for a total amount of 650 000 euros (1 011 500 Swiss francs), not subject to revision until 31 December 2005 except for the maintenance part, bringing the total amount to 1 366 000 euros (2 125 800 Swiss francs). The above amounts in Swiss francs have been calculated using the rate of exchange indicated in the tender. The firm has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: AT-60%; DE-40%. |
