Sumario:This document concerns a proposal to place an additional order with the existing supplier for portable 3-D measuring systems for checking the dimensions and positioning of the cold masses of the LHC superconducting dipole and quadrupole magnets. In September 1999, the Finance Committee approved the negotiation of a contract with the firm LEICA GEOSYSTEMS (CH) for the supply of five portable 3-D measuring systems, for a total amount of 859 500 Swiss francs, not subject to revision, with an option for the supply of up to five additional 3-D measuring systems, for a total amount of up to 859 500 Swiss francs, which is now being taken up. For the reasons set out in this document, the Finance Committee is invited to agree to the placing of a further order with the firm LEICA GEOSYSTEMS for the supply of five additional systems, for a total amount of 859 500 Swiss francs, subject to revision for contractual deliveries after 31 December 2002. These five additional systems will bring the total number of systems to 15 units. LEICA GEOSYSTEMS (CH) has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: CH-100%.
