Sumario: | This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply of 1 320 seamless austenitic stainless steel tubes that will be used as N-line tubes for the LHC main dipole and MQM quadrupole cold masses. A call for tenders (IT-2859/LHC/LHC) was sent on 8 August 2000 to 19 firms in nine Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received three tenders from three firms in three Member States. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with the firm DMV (IT), the lowest bidder, for the supply of 1 320 seamless austenitic stainless steel tubes of different types for the LHC main dipole and MQM quadrupole cold masses for a total amount of 1 413 696 Swiss francs, not subject to revision, with an option for the supply of up to 252 main dipole N-line tubes and 12 MQM quadrupole N-line tubes for an amount of 282 750 Swiss francs bringing the total amount to a maximum of 1 696 446 Swiss francs. The firm has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: IT-70%, DE-30%. |
