Sumario:This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply, assembly, installation and commissioning of three sets of special tooling for the LHC arc dipole cryomagnets. Following a market survey carried out among 57 firms in nine Member States, a call for tenders (IT-2749/LHC/LHC) was sent on 24 August 2000 to 13 firms and three consortia each consisting of two firms, in seven Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received seven tenders from four firms and three consortia in six Member States. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with the consortium CARPENTERIA S. ANTONIO (IT) - CTE SISTEMI (IT), the lowest bidder, for the supply, assembly, installation and commissioning of three sets of special tooling for the LHC arc dipole cryomagnets for an amount of 972 695 euros (1 460 000 Swiss francs), not subject to revision, with options for two additional sets of special tooling and a spare parts package for an additional amount of 679 554 euros (1 020 000 Swiss francs), not subject to revision, bringing the total amount to 1 652 249 euros (2 480 000 Swiss francs), not subject to revision. The rate of exchange which has been used is that stipulated in the tender. The consortium has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: IT-100%.
