description This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply and maintenance of a safety alarm monitoring system. Following a market survey carried out among 58 firms in 13 Member States, a call for tenders (IT-2694/ST) was sent on 5 October 2000 to 14 firms, three consortia consisting of two firms and one consisting of three firms, in ten Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received four tenders from two firms and two consortia in four Member States. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with the consortium MELOTTE INSTALLATIETECHNIEK (NL) - SPIE-TRINDEL (FR), the lowest bidder, for the supply and maintenance for seven years of a safety alarm monitoring system for a total amount of 6 485 711 Swiss francs, subject to revision after 31 December 2003 for the maintenance. The consortium has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: NL-52%; FR-48%.
