Sumario:This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply of air-handling installations for two experimental areas at points 1 and 5 of the LHC. Following a market survey carried out among 86 firms in eleven Member States, a call for tenders (IT-2659/ST/LHC) was sent on 22 September 2000 to six firms and nine consortia, six consisting of two firms, two consisting of three firms and one consisting of four firms, in eight Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received six tenders from one firm and five consortia, in six Member States. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with the consortium DEMONT (IT) - GESCO (IT), the lowest bidder, for the supply of air-handling installations for two experimental areas at points 1 and 5 of the LHC for a total amount of 15 545 762 Swiss francs, subject to revision after 31 December 2003, with an option for additional gas extractors for an amount of 1 604 338 Swiss francs, subject to revision after 31 December 2003, bringing the total amount to 17 150 100 Swiss francs, subject to revision after 31 December 2003. The consortium has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: IT-93% and FR-7%.
