description This document concerns the award of a blanket order contract for the supply and installation of high-voltage metal-clad compartmented switchgear. Following a market survey (MS-2761/ST) carried out among 59 firms in fifteen Member States, a call for tenders (IT-2827/ST) was sent on 23 January 2001 to 14 firms in ten Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received eight tenders from eight firms in seven Member States. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a blanket order contract with SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC (IT), the lowest bidder, for the supply and installation of high-voltage metal-clad compartmented switchgear for a total amount of 4 300 000 euros (6 611 000 Swiss francs), not subject to revision until 31 July 2003. The rate of exchange which has been used is that stipulated in the tender. The firm has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: IT - 70%; FR - 30%.
