Proposal for the award of a contract, without competitive tendering, for the construction of the yoke of the ALICE dipole magnet

The Finance Committee is invited to approve the request by the ALICE Collaboration to negotiate a contract, without competitive tendering, for the construction of the yoke of the ALICE Dipole Magnet by the JOINT INSTITUTE OF NUCLEAR RESEARCH (JINR), Dubna, Russia, for a total cost of 1 105 000 Swiss francs, not subject to revision. The cost of this work is to be covered jointly by the JINR and by CERN. CERN's participation in the funding of this contract will amount to 368 000 Swiss francs.
