Proposal for the award of contracts, without competitive tendering, for the supply of the support structures for the ATLAS detector

The Finance Committee is invited to approve the request by the ATLAS Collaboration to negotiate contracts, without competitive tendering, for the supply of the support structures of the ATLAS detector by the INSTITUTE OF HIGH ENERGY PHYSICS (IHEP), Protvino, Russia, and the JOINT INSTITUTE OF NUCLEAR RESEARCH (JINR), Dubna, Russia, for a total amount of 6 250 000 Swiss francs, not subject to revision. The cost of this work is to be covered jointly by the ATLAS Common Fund and in-kind contributions from Russia. CERN's contribution to the funding of these contracts will not exceed 600 000 Swiss francs.
