Proposal for the award of a contract for the design, supply, installation and testing of fixed gas distribution systems for LHC experimental areas

This document concerns the award of a contract for the design, supply, installation and testing of fixed gas distribution systems for LHC experimental areas. Following a market survey carried out among 50 firms in twelve Member States, a call for tenders (IT-2804/EST/LHC) was sent on 2 April 2001 to 15 firms, one consortium consisting of four firms and two consortia consisting of two firms each, in nine Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received seven tenders from four firms and three consortia in six Member States. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with CRIOTEC IMPIANTI (IT), the lowest bidder, for the design, supply, installation and testing of fixed gas distribution systems for LHC experimental areas for a total amount of 3 565 430 Swiss francs, not subject to revision until 31 December 2003, with options for the supply and installation of extra pipes, for an additional amount of 890 000 Swiss francs, not subject to revision until 31 December 2003, bringing the total amount to 4 455 430 Swiss francs, not subject to revision until 31 December 2003. The firm has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: IT - 100%.
