Sumario:This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply and installation of a secondary-particle decay tube for the CNGS project. Following a market survey carried out among 76 firms in fourteen Member States, a call for tenders (IT-3058/ST/CNGS) was sent on 16 April 2002 to six firms and one consortium consisting of two firms in three Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received four tenders from three firms and one consortium. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with the consortium SPIE BATIGNOLLES (FR) - CONDOTTE D'ACQUA (IT), the lowest bidder, for the supply and installation of a secondary-particle decay tube for the CNGS project for an estimated amount not exceeding 4 594 188 euros (6 755 166 Swiss francs), subject to revision for inflation from 1 January 2004. The rate of exchange which has been used is that stipulated in the tender. The consortium has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: IT - 50 %; FR - 50 %.
