Proposal for the award of a contract for the supply of four precision transfer equipment sets for the LHC

This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply, installation and commissioning of four precision transfer equipment sets for the LHC. Following a market survey carried out among 88 firms in eleven Member States, a call for tenders (IT-2952/EST/LHC) was sent on 19 March 2002 to 11 firms and two consortia, each consisting of two firms, in six Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received five tenders from three firms and two consortia consisting of two and three firms respectively. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with ZTS VVU KOSICE (SK), the lowest bidder, for the supply, installation and commissioning of four LHC precision transfer equipment sets for a total amount of 1 643 445 Swiss francs, not subject to revision, with options for one additional transfer equipment set and a warranty period extension of two additional years for a total amount of 582 200 Swiss francs, not subject to revision, bringing the total amount to 2 225 645 Swiss francs, not subject to revision. The firm has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: SK-100%.
