Sumario:This document concerns a contract to be placed, without competitive tendering, for the supply of UHV (ultra-high-vacuum) chambers for the ALICE, ATLAS and CMS vacuum systems. Following a market survey carried out among 12 firms in five Member States and two non-Member States, a call for tenders (IT-2926/LHC/LHC) was sent on 14 August 2002 to one firm, in a non-Member State. By the closing date, CERN had received one tender. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with BRUSH WELLMAN (US) for the supply of UHV chambers for the ALICE, ATLAS and CMS vacuum systems for an amount of 1 074 220 US dollars, (1 613 428 Swiss francs), not subject to revision. The rate of exchange used is that stipulated in the tender. The firm has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: US - 100%.
