description This document concerns the award of a contract for maintenance and minor work on voice and video telecommunication equipment. Following a market survey carried out among 55 firms in twelve Member States, a call for tenders (IT-3125/IT) was sent on 17 September 2002 to three firms and two consortia in four Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received three tenders from one firm and two consortia in two Member States. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a three-year contract with the consortium SPIE-TRINDEL (FR) - ELECTRON (NL), the lowest bidder, for maintenance and minor work on voice and video telecommunication equipment for a total amount not exceeding 858 265 euros (1 255 324 Swiss francs), subject to revision for inflation from 1 April 2004, with options for renewal of the contract for two further one-year periods. The rate of exchange used is that stipulated in the tender. The consortium has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: FR - 60%; NL - 40%.
