Proposal for the Award of a Contract for the Supply and Installation of 12 Interconnecting Compound Lines for Cryogenic Helium for the LHC

This document concerns the award of a contract for the supply and installation of 12 interconnecting compound lines for cryogenic helium. Following a market survey carried out among 40 firms in nine Member States, a call for tenders (IT-3142/LHC/LHC) was sent on 15 November 2002 to six firms, in four Member States. By the closing date, CERN had received two tenders from two firms in two Member States. The Finance Committee is invited to agree to the negotiation of a contract with A S SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTS (GB), the lowest bidder, for the supply and installation of 12 interconnecting compound lines for cryogenic helium for a total amount of 3 142 632 Swiss francs, not subject to revision. The firm has indicated the following distribution by country of the contract value covered by this adjudication proposal: GB - 100%.
