Present results of the Chorus $\nu_{\mu}\to\nu_{\tau}$ neutrino oscillation experiment
The CHORUS experiment has successfully finished run I (320 000 recorded vµ CC in 94/95) and performed half of run II (230 000 vµ CC in 96). The analysis chain was exercised on a subsample of the 1994 data for the muonic r decay search using for the first time fully automatic emulsion scanning. This...

Sumario: | The CHORUS experiment has successfully finished run I (320 000 recorded vµ CC in 94/95) and performed half of run II (230 000 vµ CC in 96). The analysis chain was exercised on a subsample of the 1994 data for the muonic r decay search using for the first time fully automatic emulsion scanning. This pilot analysis, resulting in a limit sin2(211) :S 8 · 10-3 at large Ll.m2 , confirms that the CHORUS proposed sensitivity (sin2(211) :S 2 · 10-4) for the full data sample (94-97) is achievable. |
