Survey of PS/SL Database for Control, Future Goals and Recommendations

Software systems for controlling particle accelerators, storage rings and related systems require data in order to operate. During the operation of a machine data is also collected. A survey was launched to investigate what information is used for machine control and how it is managed in PS and SL Divisions. The purpose of the survey is to propose ways to provide efficient data management with minimum expertise and manpower. This report describes the results of the survey as well as actions recommended to reach this goal.
