LEIR : Low Energy Ion Ring

The Low Energy Ion Ring (LEIR). After having completed its antiproton programme, CERN's Lear Low Energy Antiproton Ring has been rechristened the Low Energy Ring (LEIR). Its job will be to accumulating lead ions for CERN's LHC collider.
