Sumario: | A prototype of a 30 GHz planar accelerating structure has been manufactured by Heino Henke, Rolf Merte (Technical University of Berlin, DE) and David Yu (DULY Research, US). The structure has been brazed at CERN (CH) and it has been tested in the CLIC Test Facility II (CTF II) at CERN. The structure was installed in the probe beam accelerator, in place of one of the CLIC accelerating structures, in the first module of the 30 GHz test accelerator and it has been powered with a CLIC Power Extraction and Transfer Structure (PETS). The following tests have been performed: 1. measurement of the RF pulse produced by the beam-loading of a single bunch, 2. injection of high power (80-40 MW) at 30 GHz in different pulse lengths (4-16 ns), 3. measurement of the accelerating gradient by means of a single bunch probe beam. |
