Sumario: | Experimental limits on the possible coupling strength (ef) of a conserved hadronic axial current coupled to the photon are examined. The strongest limit, f<or=10/sup -4/, is deduced from the virtual photon contribution to the parity forbidden alpha decay of the 2/sup - / excited state of /sup 16/O. The limit based on processes involving real photons is two orders of magnitude larger. Further experiments are suggested. (20 refs). |
