Inclusive two charged particle correlations in pp collisions at total energies of 45 and 53 GeV

Measurements are reported of two particle correlations between either a pi /sup +/, p or p identified in the CHLM small angle spectrometer, and a second charged particle in the central (pionization) region. The results show short range correlation effects for each type of identified particle. Interp...

description Measurements are reported of two particle correlations between either a pi /sup +/, p or p identified in the CHLM small angle spectrometer, and a second charged particle in the central (pionization) region. The results show short range correlation effects for each type of identified particle. Interpreting the data in terms of a cluster model, measurements suggest that approximately 50% of clusters produced at rapidity approximately 2.4 emit a proton. (5 refs).
